SCB Global Membership: Society for Conservation Biology Hawaii Chapter members are not required to join the global professional society, Society for Conservation Biology (SCB Global). However, chapters give many SCB Global members an opportunity to stay active in the conservation community and get involved in local conservation issues. If you are interested in joining the global society, we can help with any questions you may have. SCB offers three types of membership; Students and Retirees receive a discounted rate. Global members can also take advantage of a number of membership benefits including funding. Learn more about SCB Global membership here. 100% of Membership Funds go towards keeping the Chapter up and running. Our Chapter operates fully on donations, grants and membership dues. A full spending report will be made available at the end of the year to members. We also accept non-monetary donations in the form of supplies, equipment, in-kind donations, other goods and services. |

Official HISCB Members:Official Members are eligible to vote in committee decisions, run for committee chair positions, form additional committees, attend Chapter Board meetings, present at General Meetings, get first priority for: trainings, reserved outings and ticketed events, and in cases where warranted, event/training fees are waived. *If you are also a SCB Global member: You are eligible to receive funding when available, run for Board positions and attend SCB Global events on behalf of HI-SCB. Official Student HISCB Members: Student Members receive the benefits of Official Members apart from: - Occasional Event/Training Fees cannot be waived. Not fully decided on whether or not to join? Join our mailing list! Stay up to date with our events & news. Our general meetings and events are open to the public.
